Unhindered has tugged the hearts of many people at Traverse, including Mike and Carolyn Deshazo. 4 months ago Mike and Carolyn purchased an investment property as part of their future retirement plans. On Sunday October 6th, 2019 we laid down the groundwork and vision for Unhindered and what we need to do to be prepared and positioned for getting into a future permanent location. God touched the heart of Mike and Carolyn that Sunday to take a huge step of faith. He pressed on their heart to put off their retirement and allow Traverse to use their investment property, “Icehouse” for staff offices, Student Ministry, and other programs we yet can’t do because we are a mobile church. Mike shared this burden with me the following day and I was blow away, not that God asked them to make such a sacrifice, but Mike and Carolyn were obedient to God’s request without hesitation and unexplainable joy! This is what a life of unhindered living looks like. Mike told me, “Many souls are going to get saved in this building”. And I have no doubt Mike’s statement will come true!
Unhindered living is not about raising money for a future permanent location, it’s about being obedient to God’s call in our life and saying yes to God in investing your time, treasure, and talents to building the Kingdom of God.
