TRAVERSE KIDS
We have an amazing and fun kids ministry here at Traverse. We offer our kids ministry at both of our 9 & 10:30am services on Sunday morning for nursery-5th graders. Outside of Sunday mornings, we host many different exciting kids and family events throughout the year!
We utilize the Gospel Project curriculum in our kids ministry, where every lesson points kids to knowing Jesus Christ. If you would like to know more about our kids ministry feel free to contact Desiree Wheeler at desiree@traversechristian.com.
If you plan to join us for one of our services you can pre-register your kids so we know to expect you and check-in fast and easy.

More about our Children's Director
My name is Desiree and I am so excited to be the new Children’s Ministry Director for Traverse Christian Church. I wanted to share a little about myself and my background to you all. I am married to Toby Wheeler, who is a firefighter for the city of Greeley. We live in Severance and have two kids, Zander age 7, and Lily, age 4. We also have a Labrador retriever named Aspen! They keep my hands busy but my heart full! As a family we love any opportunity to be outside, and we love to go boating! We love taking friends out with us on the lake! I also love gardening, and crafting!
I am a Colorado native, and grew up in the little town of Berthoud. I am the oldest of three, and my parents were lead pastors of a non-denominational, full gospel church in Longmont, CO. I gave my life to the lord at a young age, around 7 years old, was water baptized at age 12, and my early years of attending Sunday school were instrumental in laying a good foundation of who Jesus is for me. After actively being involved in church as a child, I volunteered in kids’ ministry from middle school through high school, and was involved in campus ministry when I attended CSU in Fort Collins. After graduating, I went on staff with my childhood church and was a campus minister for our church at Front Range Community College. After that door closed after a year, while I had been working part-time as a phlebotomist, I had pursued another certificate program and was hired as a medical laboratory technologist for Banner Health. I also currently work per diem at BFCMC in the laboratory. I have loved volunteering in the children’s ministry at Traverse and have felt the Lord calling me back into ministry for a while now. With this new opportunity, I am so excited to serve the Lord in obedience to His will and serve alongside you and your children in helping all of our families lay a good foundation, filled with fun, to help our kids know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior. I look forward to working with all of the families of our church and community. Please reach out anytime!
